SAP Functional Modules

The SAP system comprises of standard set of applications to meet various business functions of an enterprise. These applications are called the functional areas, or application areas, or at times the functional modules. Below is a partial list of SAP Functional Modules. SAP Consultants working on one or more functional modules are known as SAP Functional consultants.

For example SAP Basis and SAP GRC are SAP system administration related modules. SAP ABAP and SAP HANA is application development related modules. And BI/BW is mostly for Business reporting purpose. Consultants working in one or more technical modules of SAP are known as Technical consultants.
